The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fc Steaua's Fernando Guillem got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cezar Onea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Dunbar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Silviu Corbeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Eric Gaciu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarica CSM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fc Steaua the free kick. A collision led to Sarica CSM getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Eric Gaciu hit a great ball. Sarica CSM's Silviu Corbeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Guillem in the 44th minute of play. Mihai Măndica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Guillem to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Martin Dunbar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Steaua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Dunbar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Cezar Onea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sarica CSM's zone, Martin Dunbar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silviu Corbeanu came out of the goal and Martin Dunbar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 played minutes Sarica CSM got a freekick which was hit by Ionuț Bălanescu. A collision led to Fc Steaua getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Cezar Onea hit a great ball. Edgar Tăzlăuanu stood somewhat misplaced when Mihai Măndica came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 62 minute. 67 minutes into the match, Fernando Guillem notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sarica CSM's Silviu Corbeanu. Silviu Corbeanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fc Steaua's Fernando Guillem got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Sarica CSM's zone, Fernando Guillem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silviu Corbeanu came out of the goal and Fernando Guillem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silviu Corbeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Guillem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcel Lipan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silviu Corbeanu having to make a save. When Fernando Guillem came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Fc Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Guillem couldn't finish the play. After 82 played minutes Fc Steaua got a freekick which was hit by Dacian Novacovici. Sarica CSM's Eric Gaciu got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Eric Gaciu off the ground. The supporters of Fc Steaua booed when Sarica CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Gaciu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dacian Novacovici struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Silviu Corbeanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Steaua. Martin Dunbar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silviu Corbeanu having to interfere. Chants of Sarica CSM echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Fc Steaua had held the ball for most of the match.
