Claudiu Sandu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Ghimiș, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Leonard Stoiculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bulimanul CS's Claudiu Sandu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Stoiculescu in the 16th minute of play. Leonard Stoiculescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudiu Sandu having to interfere. Claudiu Sandu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Stoiculescu in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Sebastian Ghimiș left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U Boteni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience was convinced that Leonard Stoiculescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claudiu Sandu was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Eric Turbatu kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorel Jucan made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Dorel Jucan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bulimanul CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorel Jucan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dorel Jucan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nae Beșliu having to interfere. If Dorel Jucan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudiu Sandu made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Leonard Stoiculescu sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Ionică Bitănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. U Boteni's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionică Bitănescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudiu Sandu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes into the match, Bulimanul CS's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Stoiculescu came free, but Claudiu Sandu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexandru Marincean's late challenge caught a U Boteni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandru Marincean helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U Boteni booed when Bulimanul CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Marincean didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U Boteni's Leonard Stoiculescu got a free kick in the 70th minute. Nae Beșliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorel Jucan in the 73rd minute of play. Ionică Bitănescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Claudiu Sandu made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as U Boteni's Sebastian Ghimiș slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Claudiu Sandu. That made the score 0-4 after 85 minutes of play. Eric Turbatu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Claudiu Sandu made a huge save. Leonard Stoiculescu took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudiu Sandu. Claudiu Sandu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. U Boteni's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
