Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ilie Nedelcu kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Balkan Timisoara's Paul Dobre got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Călin Nicolcioiu lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 20 minutes into the game, one of Livezi:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 22nd minute of the game, Balkan Timisoara got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. When Iordache Demian came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Livezi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Demian couldn't finish the play. Ilie Nedelcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Ilie Nedelcu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balkan Timisoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilie Nedelcu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Olaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes into the match, Livezi's goal looked a bit too open when Ilie Nedelcu came free, but Virgil Olaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Balkan Timisoara's Claudiu Oancea got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes, Balkan Timisoara's Titu Bodea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Virgil Olaru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Balkan Timisoara reached it. Ilie Nedelcu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Virgil Olaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Claudiu Oancea came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Balkan Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudiu Oancea couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iordache Demian was the one to do the kick off. Marian Duca struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Virgil Olaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balkan Timisoara. 54 minutes into the match, Livezi's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Duca came free, but Virgil Olaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgil Olaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudiu Oancea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgil Olaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilie Nedelcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Claudiu Oancea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Virgil Olaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Oancea in the 69th minute of play forced Livezi's goalkeeper Virgil Olaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cezar Alupulesei fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Livezi's protests and gave Cezar Alupulesei a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Livezi's Cezar Alupulesei got a free kick in the 70th minute. After some careless play in the Livezi defense, Ilie Nedelcu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Virgil Olaru. The Livezi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Virgil Olaru should have stopped the shot. 77 minutes into the match, Livezi's goal looked a bit too open when Ilie Nedelcu came free, but Virgil Olaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cezar Alupulesei hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When Claudiu Oancea came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Balkan Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudiu Oancea couldn't finish the play. Ilie Nedelcu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Virgil Olaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Livezi's Virgil Olaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilie Nedelcu in the 90th minute of play. When Petru Mihăescu fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Livezi's protests and gave Petru Mihăescu a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes Livezi got a freekick which was hit by Petru Mihăescu. In the 92nd minute, Percy Urbano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Livezi's Virgil Olaru didn't even have to move.
