Marcel Hortopan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Livezi's Virgil Olaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustinian Dănescu in the 8th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Marcel Hortopan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Matei Ghișerel, 1-0. Livezi's Iordache Demian got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laurențiu Encica charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurențiu Encica the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Grueri were furious when Isac Dicu was red carded, 39 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 38 minutes into the game, one of Grueri:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
The wind increased when Marcel Hortopan made the kick off in the second half. Matei Ghișerel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Hortopan in the 55th minute of play. In the 61stth minute of the game Marcel Hortopan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grueri's Matei Ghișerel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Iordache Demian managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Livezi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Demian was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Șerban Ieremia charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Șerban Ieremia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Grueri's Șerban Ieremia got a free kick in the 65th minute. Livezi's Călin Nicolcioiu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Grueri. Matei Ghișerel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcel Hortopan's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 77 minutes into the match, Livezi's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Greculescu came free, but Virgil Olaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ionel Costache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Grueri booed when Livezi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iordache Demian didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Ionel Costache managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grueri's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionel Costache was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Olaru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petru Mihăescu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Șerban Ieremia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Iordache Demian struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Matei Ghișerel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Livezi. After a defensive mix-up in Grueri's zone, Iordache Demian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matei Ghișerel came out of the goal and Iordache Demian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Livezi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Grueri had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
