Valer Mavrogheni made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Ferdinand Tolea sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Aron Șipoș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua Bucuresti's supporters rose to their feet, but Aron Șipoș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Mavrogheni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valer Mavrogheni stood somewhat misplaced when Aron Șipoș came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 13 minute. Ferdinand Tolea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valer Mavrogheni having to interfere. Valer Mavrogheni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aron Șipoș in the 18th minute of play. Alexandru Pană sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrei Todericiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Strungă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ferdinand Tolea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valer Mavrogheni was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 39th minute, Ferdinand Tolea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valer Mavrogheni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Tolea in the 53rd minute of the match. When Marin Răduțu fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cornisesti's protests and gave Marin Răduțu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th minute, Aron Șipoș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58thth minute of the game Aron Șipoș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cornisesti's Valer Mavrogheni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 59 minutes of play Cornisesti's Marin Răduțu was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Marin Răduțu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 74th match minute, Cornisesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codrin Costache to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aron Șipoș in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valer Mavrogheni saved Cornisesti from getting behind.
