Codruț Moarcăș blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horia Buta having to make a save. In the 18th minute, Flavius Lovinescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horia Buta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When Flavius Lovinescu came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the U Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavius Lovinescu couldn't finish the play. Horia Milcu made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Horia Poplăcan sent off a good shot on target. Horia Buta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Moarcăș in the 29th minute of the match. Horia Buta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Codruț Moarcăș, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience was convinced that Codruț Moarcăș's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horia Buta was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olimpiu Dridu made a kick off. Felix Voitiş hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Codruț Moarcăș kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Horia Buta. That made the score 0-3 in the 53 minute of play. U Cluj's Flavius Lovinescu got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Codruț Moarcăș came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the U Cluj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Codruț Moarcăș couldn't finish the play. After having played for 63 minutes, Flavius Lovinescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U Cluj's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavius Lovinescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, U Cluj's Nichifor Ştercă got a free kick in the 64th minute. Emanuel Puiu hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Virgil Pitiș sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horia Milcu skillfully saved the ball. When Olimpiu Dridu fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC MONOLIT BRAILA's protests and gave Olimpiu Dridu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC MONOLIT BRAILA getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Olimpiu Dridu hit a great ball. When U Cluj's Codruț Moarcăș in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC MONOLIT BRAILA's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Horia Buta managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when U Cluj's Codruț Moarcăș fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Horia Milcu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olimpiu Dridu in the 78th minute of the match. Codruț Moarcășs short, quick shot in the 80thth minute got Horia Buta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Flavius Lovinescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristide Bărbat got a throw-in 92 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Horia Poplăcan.
