After 26 played minutes Belciu CSM got a freekick which was hit by Ciprian Nițu. In the 27th match minute, FC RAPID was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calin Olaru to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calin Olaru in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cătălin Alexandru saved Belciu CSM from getting behind. After some careless play in the Belciu CSM defense, Leonard Casian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cătălin Alexandru. The Belciu CSM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cătălin Alexandru should have stopped the shot. Calin Olaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cătălin Alexandru having to interfere. Cătălin Alexandru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dinu Costache went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calin Olaru in the 43rd minute of play forced Belciu CSM's goalkeeper Cătălin Alexandru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiberiu Anton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ciprian Nițu to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Cătălin Alexandru managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when FC RAPID's Calin Olaru fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. FC RAPID's Dinu Costache got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Calin Olaru in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cătălin Alexandru, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Cătălin Alexandru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calin Olaru in the 70th minute of the match. Cătălin Alexandru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calin Olaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calin Olaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cătălin Alexandru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, FC RAPID's Calin Olaru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cătălin Alexandru. In the 79th minute, Calin Olaru fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cătălin Alexandru, passed just outside the right post. Horia Tudor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute of the match, Dinu Costache tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cătălin Alexandru saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Belciu CSM booed when FC RAPID was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Casian didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute Belciu CSM were awarded a corner. Lucrețiu Burnei went to the cornerflag to take it. The Belciu CSM fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC RAPID were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
