In the 21st match minute, FC RAPID was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Tudor to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Calin Olaru put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Silviu Gârneț. FC RAPID's Calistrat Cazan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niculae Bobocea in the 29th minute of play. Silviu Gârneț was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Dinu Costache capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dinu Costache really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinu Costache got free with Silviu Gârneț in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 45 played minutes Viilor AC got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Bobocea. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Thanks to some nice moves Niculae Bobocea could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Calistrat Cazan however easily saved by the left post. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 minutes of play, FC RAPID's Calin Olaru made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silviu Gârneț was left in no man's land by his defense there! Niculae Bobocea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calistrat Cazan having to interfere. If Niculae Bobocea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viilor AC's Silviu Gârneț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calin Olaru in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the FC RAPID players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
