An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigel Nechifor in the 4th minute of play forced Gruni's goalkeeper Rareș Ciutacu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Mohora in the 8th minute of play forced F.C Brasov's goalkeeper Felix Hurezan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gruni's goalkeeper Rareș Ciutacu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gruni's Rareș Ciutacu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Nechifor in the 29th minute of play. F.C Brasov's Felix Hurezan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save F.C Brasov from getting a goal against them. Iordache Grigoriu hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Gigel Nechifor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gigel Nechifor took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rareș Ciutacu. Rareș Ciutacu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gigel Nechifor in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rareș Ciutacu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gigel Nechifor to strike the kick off in the second half. Adrian Caloian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gruni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C Brasov the free kick. After a rather tough play, Gruni's Radu Dobrica got a free kick in the 78th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Gigel Nechifor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C Brasov's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gigel Nechifor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rareș Ciutacu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxim Damian in the 87th minute of the match. Adrian Caloian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Hurezan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. With a little luck, Gruni's Rareș Ciutacu got control of the ball when Gelu Benga tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gruni's goalkeeper Rareș Ciutacu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gruni were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of F.C Brasov for a fine match.
