The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurențiu Călinescu during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Bancila's Laurențiu Călinescu got a free kick in the 4th minute. Silviu Varga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Şerb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Mihnea Dinculescu made a huge save. In the 23rd match minute, Bancila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ioan Ghimiș to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute of the match Gabriel Pădureanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihnea Dinculescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviu Varga in the 31st minute of play forced Buduleasa SC's goalkeeper Isac Hoisie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Mihnea Dinculescu managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Buduleasa SC's Gabriel Şerb fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 34th minute, Gabriel Şerb made a precise shot to the right of Mihnea Dinculescu. Bancila's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Anton Corbuț might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mihnea Dinculescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anton Corbuț ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Şerb's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mihnea Dinculescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Anton Corbuț made the kick off in the second half. Laurențiu Călinescu hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Călin Lupescu's late challenge caught a Bancila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Lupescu helped the player get up and apologised. Silviu Varga scored 1-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isac Hoisie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 62nd minute, Ioan Ghimiș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isac Hoisie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silviu Varga in the 66th minute. If Silviu Varga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel Hapaina kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Călin Ioviță kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Călin Ioviță's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mihnea Dinculescu was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Anton Corbuț fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Dinculescu having to interfere. If Gabriel Şerb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
