An unexpectedly hard shot by Niculae Ciorăscu in the 7th minute of play forced Purcei UFC's goalkeeper Mihnea Boroș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niculae Ciorăscu in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihnea Boroș saved Purcei UFC from getting behind. Mihnea Boroș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigore Huțupan in the 16th minute of play. Gavril Paulică in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Iulian Prezan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gavril Paulică blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iulian Prezan having to make a save. In the 33rd minute, Gavril Paulică got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute, Niculae Ciorăscu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Mugur Neguțu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mugur Neguțu was the one to do the kick off. Iulian Prezan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mugur Neguțu's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. 52 minutes into the game, Augustin Gârniceanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barboiul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purcei UFC the free kick. The supporters of Purcei UFC booed when Barboiul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Gârniceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Gavril Paulică got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Barboiul defense, Mugur Neguțu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iulian Prezan. The Barboiul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iulian Prezan should have stopped the shot. Mihnea Boroș was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Grigore Huțupan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 61 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Mugur Neguțu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iulian Prezan was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Grigore Huțupan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barboiul's supporters rose to their feet, but Grigore Huțupan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavril Paulică in the 87th minute of play forced Barboiul's goalkeeper Iulian Prezan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Eliodor Toacsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barboiul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purcei UFC the free kick. After 88 played minutes Barboiul got a freekick which was hit by Eliodor Toacsen. Barboiul's Iulian Prezan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Neguțu in the 90th minute of play. During the 90th minute of the match Augustin Gârniceanu completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Augustin Gârniceanu a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 91 played minutes Barboiul got a freekick which was hit by Augustin Gârniceanu. Leontin Bărbulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A collision led to Barboiul getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. George Urdăreanu hit a great ball. After 96 played minutes, Purcei UFC's Felix Udrişte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iulian Prezan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Purcei UFC reached it. Purcei UFC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Barboiul had controlled the match.
