After 5 played minutes Otelul Galati got a freekick which was hit by Petruț Tăbăcaru. In the 9th match minute, Argetoeni CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustin Ghizdeanu to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petru Roşca in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dacian Vladimirescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Petru Roşca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Dacian Vladimirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Otelul Galati getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cristi Grigoroiu hit a great ball. Argetoeni CF's Vedat Akgöl got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Argetoeni CF's Dacian Vladimirescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurențiu Lăcătușu in the 29th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Vedat Akgöl cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Cătălin Urdea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 35th minute, Petruț Tăbăcaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Otelul Galati fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Petru Roşca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Otelul Galati's supporters rose to their feet, but Petru Roşca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dacian Vladimirescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dacian Vladimirescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petru Roşca's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After 45 played minutes Argetoeni CF got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Berevoescu. Petru Roşca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Dacian Vladimirescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petru Roşca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 70th minute Petruț Tăbăcaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Vladimirescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vedat Akgöl in the 72nd minute of play forced Otelul Galati's goalkeeper Cătălin Urdea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Petru Roşca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mugur Tătăruşanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Petru Roşca came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Otelul Galati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petru Roşca couldn't finish the play. Otelul Galati's Petruț Tăbăcaru got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dacian Vladimirescu didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 89th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. 95 minutes into the match, Vedat Akgöl notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Otelul Galati's Cătălin Urdea. Cătălin Urdea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
