Mainestii FC's Iulian Cristescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petre Georgescu in the 15th minute of play. Iustin Lăcătușu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Mainestii FC's zone, Iustin Lăcătușu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iulian Cristescu came out of the goal and Iustin Lăcătușu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute Iustin Lăcătușu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iulian Cristescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 played minutes Vorovesti CSS got a freekick which was hit by Mugurel Popeangă. Remus Aaxiniei was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Dorin Frântu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dorin Frântu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Lăcătușu in the 75th minute of play forced Mainestii FC's goalkeeper Iulian Cristescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iustin Lăcătușu in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iulian Cristescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Frântu in the 80th minute of play forced Vorovesti CSS's goalkeeper Remus Aaxiniei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute Dorin Frântu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Aaxiniei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonard Enășoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd match minute, Vorovesti CSS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grigore Tiberian to maneuver through the defense.
