Mircea Drăghincescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Baciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 18 played minutes Strambeanul CSM got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Valerian. 26 minutes into the match, Captalani's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Istodor came free, but Dan Alexa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Eduard Valerian could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Dan Alexa however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, Strambeanul CSM's Marin Chiriacescu got a free kick in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the match, Captalani's Dan Baciu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Iacob Geoană's late challenge caught a Strambeanul CSM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iacob Geoană helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Captalani getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Iacob Geoană hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Eduard Valerian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Captalani's zone, Denis Istodor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dan Alexa came out of the goal and Denis Istodor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dan Alexa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Istodor in the 65th minute of the match. After 66 played minutes, Strambeanul CSM's Basarab Nedelcea shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dan Alexa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Strambeanul CSM reached it. Sorin Agrigoroaiei charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sorin Agrigoroaiei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sorin Agrigoroaiei kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Dan Alexa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduard Valerian in the 76th minute of the match. Mircea Drăghincescu made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Dan Baciu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Captalani booed when Strambeanul CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicodim Orghidan didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Istodor in the 82nd minute of play forced Captalani's goalkeeper Dan Alexa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Captalani's Iacob Geoană got a free kick in the 84th minute.
