Costin Milescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tiberiu Macarie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nae Andrieșanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Hârlab, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Malul booed when Once Upon a Time was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Pantilimon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costin Milescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Valentin Vrânceanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Vintilă Cismarescu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu. Nae Andrieșanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costin Milescu got free with Valentin Vrânceanu in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Once Upon a Time's Tiberiu Macarie got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mădălin Ionaș came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Once Upon a Time fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mădălin Ionaș couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute Iulian Hârlab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nae Andrieșanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Malul's Iulian Hârlab nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nae Andrieșanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iulian Hârlab in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Malul booed when Once Upon a Time was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niculae Zburliş didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Avram Albulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Once Upon a Time from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Once Upon a Time getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ilie Taşcu hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the game, Adam Avramescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malul's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Once Upon a Time the free kick. In the 56th minute, Adam Avramescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Once Upon a Time's goalkeeper Nae Andrieșanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cazimir Siclovan. The crowd rose to their feet as Malul's Iulian Hârlab slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nae Andrieșanu. That made the score 0-3 after 61 minutes of play. Nae Andrieșanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Hârlab in the 70th minute of play. In the 76th minute of the match Costin Milescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valentin Vrânceanu skillfully saved the ball. Nae Andrieșanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cazimir Siclovan in the 77th minute. Cazimir Siclovan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Nae Andrieșanu made a huge save. After 84 minutes, Costin Milescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Once Upon a Time and the Malul players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes, Malul's Călin Greavu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nae Andrieșanu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malul reached it. The Malul supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Malul would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
