Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Albrecht Brenner started the match with the kick off. Avram Albulescu hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albrecht Brenner in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentin Vrânceanu saved Malul from getting behind. CFR CLUJ's Romeo Duca got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th match minute, Malul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vintilă Cismarescu to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Vrânceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albrecht Brenner in the 11th minute of play. When Dagoberto França fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CFR CLUJ's protests and gave Dagoberto França a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, CFR CLUJ's Dagoberto França got a free kick in the 14th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adam Avramescu during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of CFR CLUJ booed when Malul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Avramescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the CFR CLUJ defense, Vintilă Cismarescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicu Magheran. The CFR CLUJ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicu Magheran should have stopped the shot. Nicu Magheran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vintilă Cismarescu in the 25th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albrecht Brenner in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Vrânceanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes, Iulian Hârlab mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malul and the CFR CLUJ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Malul's Iulian Hârlab got a free kick in the 30th minute. Valentin Vrânceanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Duca in the 34th minute of the match. Nicu Magheran was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Maxim Pescaru. Nicu Magheran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cazimir Siclovan went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 54th minute Avram Albulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Magheran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicu Magheran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Cismarescu in the 55th minute of play. Dagoberto França was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 58 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, CFR CLUJ's Dagoberto França got a free kick in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Călin Greavu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malul's supporters rose to their feet, but Călin Greavu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicu Magheran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 61 minutes into the match, CFR CLUJ's goal looked a bit too open when Iulian Hârlab came free, but Nicu Magheran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeo Duca hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Cazimir Siclovan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute of the match Călin Greavu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicu Magheran skillfully saved the ball. Romeo Duca struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Valentin Vrânceanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CFR CLUJ. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albrecht Brenner in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. CFR CLUJ's Nicu Magheran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iulian Hârlab in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Lei Chao Ting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicu Magheran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vintilă Cismarescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maxim Pescaru hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The supporters of Malul booed when CFR CLUJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lei Chao Ting didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Iulian Hârlab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Magheran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albrecht Brenner who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Valentin Vrânceanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Malul's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
