CFR CLUJ's Nicu Magheran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save CFR CLUJ from getting a goal against them. When Costin Milescu came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Once Upon a Time fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costin Milescu couldn't finish the play. After having played for 11 minutes, Costin Milescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Once Upon a Time's supporters crossed their fingers, but Costin Milescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute, CFR CLUJ's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tiberiu Macarie fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albrecht Brenner in the 15th minute of play. Mădălin Ionaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Magheran having to interfere. Ilie Taşcu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Once Upon a Time's goal looked a bit too open when Albrecht Brenner came free, but Nae Andrieșanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 played minutes Once Upon a Time got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Macarie. Nae Andrieșanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Culiță in the 30th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Tiberiu Macarie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nae Andrieșanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Duca, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After a rather tough play, Once Upon a Time's Costin Milescu got a free kick in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albrecht Brenner made a kick off. With a little luck, Once Upon a Time's Nae Andrieșanu got control of the ball when Albrecht Brenner tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codruț Culiță in the 55th minute of play forced Once Upon a Time's goalkeeper Nae Andrieșanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilie Taşcu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Magheran having to interfere. Tiberiu Macarie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Magheran having to interfere.
