The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Gabriel Tăzlăuanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silviu Turcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ionel Dima did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Francisc Madgearu 18 minutes into the match. Silviu Turcan struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Francisc Madgearu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hunedoara CSS. Francisc Madgearu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silviu Turcan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ionel Dima came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Hunedoara CSS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ionel Dima couldn't finish the play. If Dacian Zgabei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When George Lozovan fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ghermani AS's protests and gave George Lozovan a yellow card for diving instead. George Lozovan kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ghermani AS's zone, Ionel Dima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisc Madgearu came out of the goal and Ionel Dima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 43 minutes into the match, Ionel Dima notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ghermani AS's Francisc Madgearu. Francisc Madgearu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Sabin Beca made the kick off in the second half. If Ionel Dima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Victor Florei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabin Beca in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonard Costea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 77 minutes of play, Hunedoara CSS's Radu Călimanescu made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisc Madgearu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alexandru Iosif hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Ghermani AS's Gabriel Tăzlăuanu got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Radu Călimanescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silviu Turcan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ghermani AS's zone, Silviu Turcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisc Madgearu came out of the goal and Silviu Turcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hunedoara CSS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
