Emilian Albescu scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emil Tomescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilian Albescu in the 25th minute of play forced AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Emil Tomescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emil Tomescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristide Ciuhandu in the 30th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Ajax's zone, Emilian Albescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Tomescu came out of the goal and Emilian Albescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nistor Zbagan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emil Tomescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Emilian Albescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Emil Tomescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vintilă Staicu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Davide Colle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute, Vintilă Staicu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adam Mihăileanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. If Grigore Sava had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute, AFC Ajax's Felix Săliştean seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Felix Săliştean the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AFC Ajax protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Felix Săliştean had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Emil Tomescu, was totally fooled by FC Buzau's Emilian Albescu, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. AFC Ajax's Gabriel Sabău quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Emil Tomescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilian Albescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AFC Ajax's zone, Emilian Albescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Tomescu came out of the goal and Emilian Albescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Emilian Albescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Emil Tomescu. The goal made the score 1-5. When FC Buzau's Emilian Albescu in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Ajax's goalie prevented a goal. The AFC Ajax fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Buzau were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
