Marcel Crușeveanu succeeded in the game's 7th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. If Dorel Cotoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Gavril Brânzeu made a precise shot to the right of Eduard Vişoianu. Rangers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Niteni CS's Alex Rioşanu got a free kick in the 16th minute. Niteni CS's Gavril Brânzeu got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Rioşanu charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Rioşanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Niteni CS got a freekick which was hit by Alex Rioşanu. Marcel Crușeveanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Prelipceanu having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Niculae Necșulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rangers FC's Horia Urderean got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dorel Cotoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cornel Prelipceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorel Cotoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Rangers FC's zone, Augustin Chitila stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduard Vişoianu came out of the goal and Augustin Chitila tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Gavril Brânzeu made a precise shot to the right of Eduard Vişoianu. Rangers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After having played for 36 minutes, Dorel Cotoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorel Cotoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Niteni CS getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. David Tripon hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Crușeveanu got free with Cornel Prelipceanu in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, Marcel Crușeveanu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cornel Prelipceanu. Niteni CS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Crușeveanu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Marcel Crușeveanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornel Prelipceanu having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Augustin Chitila made the kick off in the second half. If Marcel Crușeveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eduard Vişoianu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augustin Chitila in the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorel Cotoi in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cornel Prelipceanu saved Niteni CS from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, Rangers FC's Marcel Crușeveanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornel Prelipceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Marcel Crușeveanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute Dorel Cotoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornel Prelipceanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Crușeveanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cornel Prelipceanu having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gelu Jurcuț during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Niteni CS booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Jurcuț didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mădălin Axinia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
