After a defensive mix-up in Cherimcuius CSM's zone, Gigi Opincaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olimpiu Meleșcanu came out of the goal and Gigi Opincaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 13 minutes into the match, Cherimcuius CSM's goalkeeper Olimpiu Meleșcanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doru Costea. In the 18th minute, Sever Ignătescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Sever Ignătescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gavril Gârneață. Stavarul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sever Ignătescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexandru Chiuzbaian in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olimpiu Meleșcanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Gigi Opincaru took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Olimpiu Meleșcanu to make any attempt to save it. Gavril Gârneață was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Narcis Zdrăilă. Gigi Opincaru hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Sever Ignătescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Gavril Gârneață tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cherimcuius CSM had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
