Eliodor Greavu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Montrel Castaño firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 17th minute, Mihnea Dominte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Montrel Castaño was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, Octav Molodețiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Costin Constantiniu. Brljiste's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octav Molodețiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Octav Molodețiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Constantiniu having to interfere. Progresul Pitești's Sorin Ţiriac quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pompiliu Creteanu, made in the 26th minute of the game. 29 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitești's goal looked a bit too open when Mihnea Dominte came free, but Montrel Castaño reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Progresul Pitești's Montrel Castaño got control of the ball when Eliodor Greavu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sorin Ţiriac ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Mihnea Dominte kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Montrel Castaño. That made the score 2-1 in the 37 minute of play. Costin Constantiniu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octav Molodețiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The wind increased when Mihnea Dominte made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Progresul Pitești was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radu Roşca to maneuver through the defense. Octav Molodețiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Costin Constantiniu having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Progresul Pitești's zone, Eliodor Greavu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Montrel Castaño came out of the goal and Eliodor Greavu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eliodor Greavu came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Brljiste fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliodor Greavu couldn't finish the play. In the 65thth minute of the game Eliodor Greavu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Progresul Pitești's Montrel Castaño was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brljiste's Costin Constantiniu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Brljiste from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the game, Marcel Dărmănescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Montrel Castaño was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 83rd minute Brljiste were awarded a corner. Eric Nicorici went to the cornerflag to take it. After 84 played minutes Progresul Pitești got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Ignado. After 85 played minutes, Brljiste's Eric Nicorici shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Montrel Castaño came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brljiste reached it. After a rather tough play, Brljiste's Eric Nicorici got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 94th minute Eliodor Greavu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Montrel Castaño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Progresul Pitești's Montrel Castaño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Greavu in the 97th minute of play. Brljiste's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
