After 5 played minutes UFC Cringuri got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Mitică. After 7 minutes, Cezar Grămescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Cringuri and the Momaiu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mugur Şelaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viorel Griguță having to interfere. The supporters of Momaiu booed when UFC Cringuri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Burdulea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes, Momaiu's Gigi Irimia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Viorel Griguță came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Momaiu reached it. When Valeriu Asachi fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Momaiu's protests and gave Valeriu Asachi a yellow card for diving instead. Valeriu Asachi hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Momaiu's zone, Petrică Mitică stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aron Bulcă came out of the goal and Petrică Mitică tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mugur Şelaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Viorel Griguță tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viorel Griguță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Cluceru in the 23rd minute of the match. Aron Bulcă was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Niculae Trişcu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 27 minute of play. When Cezar Grămescu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 33 minutes had been played. In the 36th minute, Iustinian Semeghin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mugur Şelaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, UFC Cringuri's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Cluceru came free, but Viorel Griguță reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niculae Trişcu to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Momaiu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiberiu Berceanu to maneuver through the defense. Niculae Trişcu struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Aron Bulcă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC Cringuri. Narcis Hațegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aron Bulcă having to interfere.
