After 21 minutes, Cazimir Josan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teascu and the S.S Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teascu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul Ciorănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Sebastian Neacșu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Narcis Cornea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Iftode saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.S Bucuresti's Costel Dobrea got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ilie Hăulică was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, one of Teascu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Emanuel Gherguț shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a defensive mix-up in S.S Bucuresti's zone, Narcis Cornea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Iftode came out of the goal and Narcis Cornea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to S.S Bucuresti getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Emanuel Gherguț hit a great ball. Ilie Hăulică sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the match, Narcis Cornea dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gigel Iftode, 0-2. Paul Ciorănescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigel Iftode read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Ilie Hăulică cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Codruț Cristoloveanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paul Ciorănescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gigel Iftode read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Narcis Cornea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute Narcis Cornea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigel Iftode saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes S.S Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Gherguț. The S.S Bucuresti supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Teascu's performance. The match ended with a win for Teascu.
