Matisfalva's Iordache Găman got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th match minute, Matisfalva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucrețiu Roşu to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matisfalva's goalkeeper Codrin Horațiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Iosif Şuţu fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matisfalva's protests and gave Iosif Şuţu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Horlaceni AC booed when Matisfalva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iosif Şuţu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Ciungu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Codrin Horațiu having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Robert Bogza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Horlaceni AC booed when Matisfalva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iosif Şuţu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Bogza charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Bogza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Eduard Militaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horlaceni AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduard Militaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dan Ciungu made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iordache Găman in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicodim Ciociu saved Horlaceni AC from getting behind. Eduard Militaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Codrin Horațiu having to make a save. Dan Ciungu scored 1-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Codrin Horațiu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 66th minute, Dan Ciungu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Horlaceni AC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Bogdan Vişan hit a great ball. In the 79thth minute of the game Dan Ciungu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matisfalva's Codrin Horațiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Horlaceni AC's Dan Ciungu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Codrin Horațiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Matisfalva's goalkeeper Codrin Horațiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicodim Ciociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iordache Găman in the 85th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes Iordache Găman rounded Horlaceni AC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 97th minute, Eduard Militaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horlaceni AC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
