After 9 minutes of play, Jitani's Codruț Drăgan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alin Jder was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Leluțiu in the 12th minute of play forced Jitani's goalkeeper Niculae Teleagă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alexandru Dărăscu fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jitani's protests and gave Alexandru Dărăscu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Jitani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandru Dărăscu to maneuver through the defense. If Olimpiu Hurmuz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Valer Leluțiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baia Mare United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valer Leluțiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Baia Mare United's Olimpiu Hurmuz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Niculae Teleagă made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Dorin Minculescu charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorin Minculescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Jitani got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Minculescu. Niculae Teleagă didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. In the 39th minute Pavel Aldea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alin Jder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alin Jder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Drăgan in the 42nd minute of play.

The wind increased when Valer Leluțiu made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Baia Mare United's Alin Jder got control of the ball when Pavel Aldea tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Valer Leluțiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baia Mare United's Alin Jder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Codruț Drăgan in the 84th minute of play. Pavel Aldea in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alin Jder, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ovidiu Covaci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Alin Jder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baia Mare United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
