Pihnesti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Petre Răduța was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Codruț Grămescu in the 21st minute of play forced Pihnesti's goalkeeper Mugur Iftode to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mugur Iftode showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petre Răduța in the 22nd minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Niculae Ciorăscu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
