Emanuel Chirculescu made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Ilie Ducu sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 10 minutes, Nicolae Lera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balasesti AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolae Lera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 11th minute, Viorel Uncuţă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balasesti AC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Sever Vulpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prunisoru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sever Vulpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Prunisoru's Claudiu Ţiţeica got a free kick in the 18th minute. Augustin Voicescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iustin Urderean. Prunisoru's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Balasesti AC's zone, Ilie Ducu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Chirculescu came out of the goal and Ilie Ducu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudiu Coroian's late challenge caught a Prunisoru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudiu Coroian helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Claudiu Coroian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Sever Vulpe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Prunisoru's supporters rose to their feet, but Sever Vulpe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Chirculescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Emanuel Chirculescu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emanuel Chirculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sever Vulpe in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Prunisoru booed when Balasesti AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Aluculesei didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ilie Ducu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 34 minutes, Cornel Andronache mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Prunisoru and the Balasesti AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th match minute, Prunisoru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Andronache to maneuver through the defense. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Prunisoru's Sever Vulpe in the 38th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Emanuel Chirculescu was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Balasesti AC through an amazing save. Emanuel Chirculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sever Vulpe in the 40th minute of play. Ilie Ducu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Chirculescu having to interfere.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sever Vulpe to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Balasesti AC's Iustin Urderean threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Viorel Uncuţă, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Prunisoru's Ilie Ducu got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prunisoru's Iustin Urderean proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Prunisoru from getting a goal against them. Nicolae Lera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iustin Urderean having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Prunisoru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Andronache to maneuver through the defense. Viorel Uncuţă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Iustin Urderean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viorel Uncuţă in the 82nd minute of play forced Prunisoru's goalkeeper Iustin Urderean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Balasesti AC booed when Prunisoru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Loga didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Șerban Filipoiu from long distance, 96 minutes into the match, got Iustin Urderean's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Balasesti AC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
