After 12 minutes, Basarab Todericiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Golgofta CSS and the Stangaceaua CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Basarab Todericiu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Petru Căplescu had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Basarab Todericiu got his second yellow card in the match during the 14th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Stangaceaua CF booed when Golgofta CSS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basarab Todericiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Stangaceaua CF's zone, Sever Jivulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Traian Lucaci came out of the goal and Sever Jivulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mugur Dănănae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Mihai Blăjan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Golgofta CSS's Sandu Lăzăroiu got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mugur Dănănae kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. A collision led to Golgofta CSS getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Sever Jivulescu hit a great ball. Petruț Braru succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After a rather tough play, Golgofta CSS's Sever Jivulescu got a free kick in the 44th minute. Petruț Braru who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Mihai Blăjan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sever Jivulescu in the 47th minute of play forced Stangaceaua CF's goalkeeper Traian Lucaci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petruț Braru to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Golgofta CSS's Sever Jivulescu got a free kick in the 52nd minute.
