The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Vintilă Şendrea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OTELUL GALATI and the Dozesti SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vintilă Şendrea kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandu Purcaru in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adrian Cosoroabă saved OTELUL GALATI from getting behind. In the 5th minute, Sandu Purcaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Cosoroabă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toader Busuioceanu's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Dozesti SC's Sandu Purcaru got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th match minute, OTELUL GALATI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Liciu to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 19 minutes, Sandu Purcaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dozesti SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandu Purcaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sandu Purcaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. OTELUL GALATI's Adrian Cosoroabă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toader Busuioceanu in the 31st minute of play. Dacian Brădea kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the OTELUL GALATI defense, Toader Busuioceanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrian Cosoroabă. The OTELUL GALATI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrian Cosoroabă should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Dozesti SC booed when OTELUL GALATI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vintilă Şendrea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Dozesti SC's Doru Ghioncu to fire away a dangerous shot which Adrian Cosoroabă despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Adrian Cosoroabă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Purcaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Flavius Flintașu fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OTELUL GALATI's protests and gave Flavius Flintașu a yellow card for diving instead. Flavius Flintașu kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octavian Ştefănoiu to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandu Purcaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 67 minutes, Sandu Purcaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Narcis Liciu during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Sandu Purcaru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adrian Cosoroabă. The goal made the score 0-4. In the 92nd minute, Toader Busuioceanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandu Purcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Cosoroabă having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Dozesti SC's Maxim Chindriș sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adrian Cosoroabă narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Flavius Flintașu kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Doru Ghioncu, 99 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The OTELUL GALATI fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Dozesti SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
