George Blajovici made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After 42 played minutes F.C. BRASOV got a freekick which was hit by Vintilă Vârlan. David Pisculescu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised George Blajovici 44 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When David Pisculescu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Burzuc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Pisculescu couldn't finish the play. George Blajovici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Stoicea in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute David Pisculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Blajovici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinu Stoicea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Pisculescu in the 76th minute of play forced F.C. BRASOV's goalkeeper George Blajovici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Burzuc got a corner. F.C. BRASOV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aurelian Fânaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Dinu Stoicea heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 81 minutes into the match, Burzuc's Tudor Olteanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Blajovici narrowly saved just below the crossbar. George Blajovici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Pisculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinu Stoicea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Blajovici having to interfere. Despite being the better team, Burzuc failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
