The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nistor Chivu kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Dozesti SC's Filip Grădinaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Ichim in the 6th minute of play. George Blajovici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toader Busuioceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandu Purcaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Blajovici having to interfere. Paul Comăneci scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filip Grădinaru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toader Busuioceanu in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg George Blajovici saved F.C. BRASOV from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Dozesti SC's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Comăneci came free, but Filip Grădinaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandu Purcaru was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 24th minute. Dozesti SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, F.C. BRASOV's Manole Hritcu got a free kick in the 26th minute. George Blajovici showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Busuioceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C. BRASOV's goalkeeper George Blajovici, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sandu Purcaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. George Blajovici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was a well-played corner which Sandu Purcaru managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Toader Busuioceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Blajovici having to interfere. With a little luck, F.C. BRASOV's George Blajovici got control of the ball when Maxim Chindriș tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dozesti SC's Filip Grădinaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Comăneci in the 45th minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Sandu Purcaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. BRASOV's George Blajovici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Dozesti SC's Toader Busuioceanu in the 48th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but George Blajovici was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for F.C. BRASOV through an amazing save.

F.C. BRASOV's George Blajovici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandu Purcaru in the 57th minute of play. If Bogdan Ichim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70thth minute of the game Nistor Chivu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. BRASOV's George Blajovici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sandu Purcaru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without George Blajovici having to make a save. Toader Busuioceanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Blajovici having to interfere. George Blajovici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandu Purcaru in the 79th minute of the match. The supporters of F.C. BRASOV booed when Dozesti SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxim Chindriș didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Sandu Purcaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Blajovici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Blajovici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandu Purcaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toader Busuioceanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Blajovici read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Dozesti SC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
