Taribo West tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Cirnesti AC's Octav Ivasiuc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Taribo West narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cirnesti AC's Valentin Roșeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doru Mitrea in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 26 minutes, Robert Vâlceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cirnesti AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Vâlceanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavius Coșeriu in the 35th minute of play forced Cirnesti AC's goalkeeper Valentin Roșeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Octav Ivasiuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cirnesti AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octav Ivasiuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gică Purje during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gică Purje hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. But to his dismay, Octav Ivasiuc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Ajax getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aurelian Potra hit a great ball. After having played for 60 minutes, Octav Ivasiuc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cirnesti AC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octav Ivasiuc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 61 minutes, Robert Vâlceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 74th match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Secară to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Roșeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doru Mitrea, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Robert Vâlceanu notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Ajax's Taribo West. Taribo West was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Leonard Şteflea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavius Coșeriu kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Edgar Crețu hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Nicolae Bogrea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Taribo West having to interfere. Octav Ivasiuc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Taribo West tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Cirnesti AC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
