Ionuț Murgan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 11 minutes into the match, FC Brasov's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Arseanu came free, but Ionuț Murgan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Gheorghe Mirciulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Florin Costea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iustin Săvoiu. Sumita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Florin Costea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 22 minutes of play, FC Brasov's Florin Costea made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iustin Săvoiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ionuț Murgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gheorghe Mirciulescu in the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dragoş Cucerzan during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dragoş Cucerzan kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Măcrineanu in the 37th minute of play forced FC Brasov's goalkeeper Ionuț Murgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florin Costea got free with Iustin Săvoiu in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The FC Brasov fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when FC Brasov's Florin Costea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 45 minutes into the match, Sumita's goalkeeper Iustin Săvoiu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florin Costea. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Florin Costea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Sumita booed when FC Brasov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nechifor Harhoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Dragoş Cucerzan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ionuț Murgan skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doru Teofil during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, FC Brasov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doru Teofil to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Arseanu in the 69th minute of play forced FC Brasov's goalkeeper Ionuț Murgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Nechifor Harhoiu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iustin Săvoiu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 74th minute, Sumita's Adrian Măcrineanu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ionuț Murgan. Ionuț Murgan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Ciprian Ciorăscu hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. With a little luck, FC Brasov's Ionuț Murgan got control of the ball when Dragoş Arseanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dragoş Arseanu kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Gabriel Chibulcutean received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ionuț Murgan came out and tried to block the shot, but Gabriel Chibulcutean slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 92nd minute. After 96 minutes, Nechifor Harhoiu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Brasov and the Sumita players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Brasov's Nechifor Harhoiu got a free kick in the 96th minute. Adrian Măcrineanu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ionuț Murgan firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sumita players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
