Filiasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narcis Tomoiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filiasi's Eduard Turdeanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Gheorghiu in the 6th minute of play. Rareș Videanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduard Turdeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Bulgar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Bulgar in the 12th minute of play forced Filiasi's goalkeeper Eduard Turdeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Gabriel Gheorghiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Turdeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 minutes, Sabin Doinaș mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Filiasi and the Pinticesti AS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Filiasi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Eduard Arsene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dinu Luțu in the 35th minute. Narcis Tomoiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eduard Arsene having to make a save. 43 minutes into the match, Pinticesti AS's goalkeeper Eduard Arsene had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinu Luțu. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Gheorghiu was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute Gabriel Gheorghiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduard Turdeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinu Luțu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Pinticesti AS booed when Filiasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabin Doinaș didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduard Arsene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinu Luțu, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute of the match Aron Răchitan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eduard Turdeanu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 77 minutes of play Filiasi's Augustin Baldazar was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Augustin Baldazar kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Marian Roșeanu fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinticesti AS's protests and gave Marian Roșeanu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Marian Roșeanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Gheorghiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduard Turdeanu having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Pinticesti AS's Gabriel Gheorghiu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Gheorghiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduard Turdeanu was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Pinticesti AS's Eduard Turdeanu threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gabriel Gheorghiu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Gabriel Gheorghiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
