The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Sever Bârlă fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Red Wolf's protests and gave Sever Bârlă a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hoinari booed when FC Red Wolf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sever Bârlă didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Marian Turlea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Virgil Iosifian was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorin Şchiopu made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, one of FC Red Wolf:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 60th minute, Albert Colceriu made a precise shot to the right of Nicolae Toma. Hoinari's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Nicolae Toma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Balc in the 65th minute of the match. If Iustinian Pascaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgil Iosifian was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Dorin Şchiopu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dorin Şchiopu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marian Turlea got free with Virgil Iosifian in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marian Turlea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Virgil Iosifian made a huge save. Cosmin Stănciulaş hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute Dorin Şchiopu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgil Iosifian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
