The referee ignored FC POLI's protests and gave Adam Bâru a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Bâru kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, FC POLI's goal looked a bit too open when George Barbălată came free, but Ovidiu Gologan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC POLI getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Nicu Zbârcea hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Gică Boieraș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tirioi's supporters rose to their feet, but Gică Boieraș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidiu Gologan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolae Vâlcu during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 10 played minutes FC POLI got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Vâlcu. Tirioi's Paul Zamfirescu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC POLI. In the 13th minute of the game, Nicolae Vâlcu landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Vasile Comișel charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vasile Comișel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vasile Comișel hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Tirioi's Codruț Sălcudeanu got control of the ball when Nichifor Bungeanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Gică Boieraș who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC POLI's Ovidiu Gologan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Nichifor Bungeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC POLI's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nichifor Bungeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adam Bâru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Codruț Sălcudeanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ovidiu Gologan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Barbălată in the 29th minute of the match. George Barbălată sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Adam Bâru was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. Ovidiu Gologan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gică Boieraș went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Tirioi's Gică Boieraș in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC POLI's goalie prevented a goal. Filip Luțu hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Gică Boieraș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ovidiu Gologan having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Filip Luțu was the one to do the kick off. Gică Boieraș who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Ovidiu Gologan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gică Boieraș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gică Boierașs short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Ovidiu Gologan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nichifor Bungeanu was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Tirioi booed when FC POLI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Bungeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gică Boieraș came up free with the goalie in the 100th minute, the Tirioi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gică Boieraș couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tirioi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
