Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bogdan Goșa took the kick off in the first half of the match. Călin Chirilă scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Horaţiu Mavrogheni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Rapid CFR's Horaţiu Mavrogheni got control of the ball when Avram Nicolae tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Rapid CFR getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Denis Dugulescu hit a great ball. Avram Nicolae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. Avram Nicolae could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Horaţiu Mavrogheni made a huge save. Călin Chirilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Răzvan Onitiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rapid CFR's supporters rose to their feet, but Răzvan Onitiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corneliu Balaban breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rapid CFR's Horaţiu Mavrogheni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Rapid CFR from getting a goal against them. Horaţiu Mavrogheni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Călin Chirilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC VITAN's zone, Răzvan Onitiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corneliu Balaban came out of the goal and Răzvan Onitiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Goșa in the 22nd minute of play forced FC VITAN's goalkeeper Corneliu Balaban to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niculae Hurgoi kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the game, Rapid CFR's Răzvan Onitiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Corneliu Balaban made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Răzvan Onitiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corneliu Balaban having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Ionuț Roşulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Corneliu Balaban made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Răzvan Onitiu in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Răzvan Onitiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corneliu Balaban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avram Nicolae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Horaţiu Mavrogheni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horaţiu Mavrogheni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Călin Chirilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After the first half Rapid CFR were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Călin Chirilă stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to FC VITAN getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Niculae Hurgoi hit a great ball. Răzvan Onitiu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Corneliu Balaban made a huge save. 57 minutes into the game, Damian Chiper was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC VITAN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rapid CFR the free kick. In the 57th minute, Damian Chiper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Dugulescu during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Rapid CFR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Dugulescu to maneuver through the defense. Avram Nicolae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Călin Chirilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 minutes, Marius Burtea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rapid CFR and the FC VITAN players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes Rapid CFR got a freekick which was hit by Marius Burtea. Horaţiu Mavrogheni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Călin Chirilă's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. If Călin Chirilă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Călin Chirilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horaţiu Mavrogheni having to interfere. In the 75thth minute of the game Bogdan Goșa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC VITAN's Corneliu Balaban was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, FC VITAN's goal looked a bit too open when Bogdan Goșa came free, but Corneliu Balaban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Călin Chirilă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Horaţiu Mavrogheni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rapid CFR's Bogdan Goșa in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC VITAN's goalie prevented a goal. The Rapid CFR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rapid CFR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
