Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Ernest Basarab started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristi Niculescu in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Chivu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Niculescu in the 6th minute of play forced Dobricea CS's goalkeeper Manuel Chivu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mugur Asachi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Manuel Chivu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Dobricea CS's goal looked a bit too open when Cristi Niculescu came free, but Manuel Chivu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugur Asachi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Manuel Chivu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gavanu AFC's Manuel Iovanovici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Basarab in the 12th minute of play. Dobricea CS's Aristide Vernescu got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th minute Ernest Basarab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Iovanovici saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aristide Vernescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Iovanovici having to interfere. The supporters of Dobricea CS booed when Gavanu AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ioan Oltean didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernest Basarab recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Dobricea CS's Manuel Iovanovici threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ernest Basarab, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 37 minutes into the game, Cristi Niculescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Manuel Chivu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ferdinand Fințescu kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristi Niculescu made a kick off. When Mugur Asachi came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Gavanu AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mugur Asachi couldn't finish the play. Cristi Niculescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Chivu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Manuel Chivu made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Mugur Asachi sent off a good shot on target. Cristi Niculescu struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Manuel Chivu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavanu AFC. Dobricea CS's Ernest Basarab got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristi Niculescu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Manuel Chivu. That made the score 0-2 in the 63 minute of play. Manuel Iovanovici showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Basarab in the 67th minute of the match. Aristide Vernescu kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After 80 minutes, Dumitru Vâtcă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gavanu AFC and the Dobricea CS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dumitru Vâtcă hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Cristi Niculescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Chivu having to interfere. Dobricea CS's Manuel Chivu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Dobricea CS from getting a goal against them. If Aristide Vernescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Șerban Chevereșan charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Șerban Chevereșan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mugur Asachi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Manuel Chivu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The Gavanu AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gavanu AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
