Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mădălin Hurmuz started the match with the kick off. The supporters of FC Eagles Sibiu booed when Scobalteni CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Basarab didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 7 played minutes FC Eagles Sibiu got a freekick which was hit by Ilie Liciu. When Ilie Liciu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 9 minutes had been played. In the 13th minute, Andrzej Kloczko fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Albert Cucerdean, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrzej Kloczko in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Cucerdean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Victor Budulea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Cucerdean having to interfere. A hard shot 17 in the game by Victor Budulea from a close distance when the talented Albert Cucerdean managed to make a qualified save. Scobalteni CSM's players were relieved. Octavian Cazimir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mădălin Hurmuz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FC Eagles Sibiu getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Victor Budulea hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Bogdan Scripcaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scobalteni CSM's supporters rose to their feet, but Bogdan Scripcaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Moise Zăhărescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calistrat Buzoianu charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calistrat Buzoianu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Calistrat Buzoianu hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Scobalteni CSM's Bogdan Scripcaru got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mădălin Hurmuz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Moise Zăhărescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Eagles Sibiu's Moise Zăhărescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Scripcaru in the 46th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Eagles Sibiu's zone, Mădălin Hurmuz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moise Zăhărescu came out of the goal and Mădălin Hurmuz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Budulea was the one to do the kick off. Albert Cucerdean didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Budulea went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrzej Kloczko in the 59th minute of play forced Scobalteni CSM's goalkeeper Albert Cucerdean to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moise Zăhărescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mădălin Hurmuz, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Andrzej Kloczko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albert Cucerdean read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Albert Cucerdean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Budulea's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Andrzej Kloczko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Budulea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Albert Cucerdean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cătălin Stănciulescu hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. The FC Eagles Sibiu fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when FC Eagles Sibiu's Victor Budulea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
