Jiul's Leontin Braia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ján Holiga in the 5th minute of play. Taur AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jiul the free kick. Leontin Braia made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Ján Holiga sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute Petru Amurăriței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Costel Tutunaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nae Bleoancă in the 21st minute of play forced Taur AFC's goalkeeper Costel Tutunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Petru Amurăriței made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Ján Holiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leontin Braia was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 56 minutes into the game, Jiul's Petru Amurăriței nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Costel Tutunaru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ján Holiga in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Braia saved Jiul from getting behind. In the 61st minute Cristian Roman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Braia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valentin Corbea's late challenge caught a Taur AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentin Corbea helped the player get up and apologised. Costel Tutunaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petru Amurăriței, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ján Holiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Leontin Braia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Jiul booed when Taur AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bahy Shehab didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petruț Cerchez hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Cristian Roman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taur AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Roman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute Bahy Shehab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leontin Braia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leontin Braia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Roman in the 91st minute of the match. If Cristian Roman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinu Tremurici hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
