The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sebastian Sitaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emilian Bocșa had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Horaţiu Măgureanu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Sebastian Sitaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Toader Braniște kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Lupa din Ghencea's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Sitaru came free, but Emilian Bocșa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Disznopatak CSM's goalkeeper Codruț Moculescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lupa din Ghencea's Emilian Bocșa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Sitaru in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Disznopatak CSM getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ferdinand Bulgar hit a great ball. Disznopatak CSM's Codruț Moculescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Disznopatak CSM from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Sebastian Sitaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Disznopatak CSM's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Sitaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilian Bocșa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emilian Bocșa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Patriciu in the 37th minute of the match. Sebastian Patriciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Sitaru in the 40th minute of play forced Lupa din Ghencea's goalkeeper Emilian Bocșa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lupa din Ghencea's Codrin Onișoru got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ciprian Condrea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Codruț Moculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Disznopatak CSM's zone, Codrin Onișoru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Codruț Moculescu came out of the goal and Codrin Onișoru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sebastian Sitaru made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Lupa din Ghencea's Emilian Bocșa got control of the ball when Sebastian Patriciu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Călin Cioculescu's late challenge caught a Lupa din Ghencea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Călin Cioculescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lupa din Ghencea booed when Disznopatak CSM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Călin Cioculescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mircea Vişoianu, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Disznopatak CSM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iacob Zgondea to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute, Codrin Onișoru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Patriciu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emilian Bocșa came out and tried to block the shot, but Sebastian Patriciu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 72nd minute. Sebastian Patriciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastian Sitaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilian Bocșa having to interfere. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Disznopatak CSM's goalkeeper Codruț Moculescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, one of Lupa din Ghencea:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
