An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Răţescu in the 3rd minute of play forced Red&Blue FC's goalkeeper Ştefan Onciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gildo Pontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Apostolescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Nedelea, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. The audience was convinced that Gigi Răţescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ştefan Onciu was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 18th minute Martin Nedelea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Apostolescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Răţescu in the 19th minute of play forced Red&Blue FC's goalkeeper Ştefan Onciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Călin Stolojan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ştefan Onciu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in F.C Rapid Bucuresti's zone, Martin Nedelea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugen Apostolescu came out of the goal and Martin Nedelea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to F.C Rapid Bucuresti getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Călin Stolojan hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Călin Stolojan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugen Apostolescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Nedelea in the 43rd minute of the match. After 43 played minutes F.C Rapid Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Emilian Costache. Gigi Răţescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martin Nedelea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emilian Costache recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Red&Blue FC's Ştefan Onciu got control of the ball when Gigi Răţescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute Petru Izvoranu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Apostolescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Red&Blue FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Gigi Răţescu scored to the left of an out of position Ştefan Onciu, making the score, 0-2. Eugen Apostolescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Nedelea in the 68th minute of the match. Iurie Peter struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Ştefan Onciu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C Rapid Bucuresti. Iurie Peter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F.C Rapid Bucuresti's Calistrat Hogaș was substituted for Sylwester Sikola. In the 81st minute Iurie Peter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Onciu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Pancu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ştefan Onciu made a huge save. If Emilian Costache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Dacian Pancu made a precise shot to the right of Ştefan Onciu. Red&Blue FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4.
