Ghindaresti's Augustin Zgrăbunţa got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute Valeriu Angheluță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Teişanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ghindaresti's Basarab Apetroaiei got control of the ball when Andrei Trică tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Traian Malcocea fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costana CS's protests and gave Traian Malcocea a yellow card for diving instead. Traian Malcocea kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Costana CS's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Moșneanu came free, but Bogdan Teişanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ghindaresti getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. George Vancea hit a great ball. Basarab Apetroaiei made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Nechifor Ciorobîtcă sent off a good shot on target. Basarab Apetroaiei made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Andrei Trică sent off a good shot on target. 27 minutes into the match, Costana CS's Marius Albulescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Basarab Apetroaiei narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 29th minute of the match, Andrei Trică got a very nice opportunity to score, but Basarab Apetroaiei was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Ghindaresti booed when Costana CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costel Abutnăriței didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iordache Beșliu struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Bogdan Teişanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Ghindaresti's Basarab Apetroaiei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Olteanu in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Costana CS's zone, George Vancea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Teişanu came out of the goal and George Vancea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Augustin Zgrăbunţa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Teişanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andrei Trică made a kick off. George Vancea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Teişanu having to interfere. In the 58th minute Andrei Trică shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Apetroaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leontin Doicaru came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bogdan Teişanu could save by the left post. Basarab Apetroaiei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrei Trică, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ghindaresti made a substitution. Jan Gondela replaced Leontin Doicaru. Costel Abutnăriței kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Vincentas Arvazas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valeriu Angheluță could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Bogdan Teişanu made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Bărbuceanu in the 75th minute of play forced Ghindaresti's goalkeeper Basarab Apetroaiei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogdan Teişanu was a little too slow when Valeriu Angheluță got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 0-2. Bogdan Teişanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valeriu Angheluță in the 79th minute. Valeriu Angheluță blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bogdan Teişanu having to make a save. In the 83rd minute, Nichifor Olteanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valeriu Angheluță in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bogdan Teişanu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 88th minute Andrei Trică shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basarab Apetroaiei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrei Trică in the 91st minute of play forced Ghindaresti's goalkeeper Basarab Apetroaiei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd match minute, Costana CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marian Popeangă to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ghindaresti booed when Costana CS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Bărbuceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Apetroaiei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Trică, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. After 99 minutes, Nechifor Ciorobîtcă mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costana CS and the Ghindaresti players grew even worse after the yellow card.
