If Costică Pantea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Costică Pantea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mihăiţă Vişan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costin Claudiescu's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute, one of Gauri:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gauri. When Ilie Secoşan fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gauri's protests and gave Ilie Secoşan a yellow card for diving instead. When UFC RAPID's Costin Claudiescu in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gauri's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costin Claudiescu in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihăiţă Vişan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When UFC RAPID's Costin Claudiescu in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gauri's goalie prevented a goal. Gauri's Mihăiţă Vişan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costică Pantea in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st match minute, Gauri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Secoşan to maneuver through the defense. Mihăiţă Vişan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costin Claudiescu's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 39 minutes of play, UFC RAPID's Costin Claudiescu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mihăiţă Vişan was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Costin Claudiescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iulian Bacanu was the one to do the kick off. Claudiu Ploieșteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihăiţă Vişan having to interfere. Costin Claudiescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costin Claudiescus short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Mihăiţă Vişan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Gauri's zone, Cătălin Sandu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihăiţă Vişan came out of the goal and Cătălin Sandu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costin Claudiescu in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mihăiţă Vişan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to UFC RAPID getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Claudiu Ploieșteanu hit a great ball. Costin Claudiescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihăiţă Vişan stood somewhat misplaced when Costin Claudiescu came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 80 minute. Mihăiţă Vişan made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Costin Claudiescu sent off a good shot on target. After 88 played minutes Gauri got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Domide. In the 90thth minute of the game Costin Claudiescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gauri's Mihăiţă Vişan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Irinel Roşulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Bacanu in the 94th minute of play. The supporters of Gauri booed when UFC RAPID was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudiu Ploieșteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. UFC RAPID's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
