After a rather tough play, FC Gloria Marasesti's Constantin Ghișe got a free kick in the 5th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Gloria Marasesti's zone, Costin Claudiescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Pantilimon came out of the goal and Costin Claudiescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Costică Pantea made a precise shot to the right of Gigel Pantilimon. FC Gloria Marasesti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Costin Claudiescu had several of the FC Gloria Marasesti's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 16 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Gigel Pantilimon as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 20th minute Gică Harhoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irinel Roşulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Claudiu Ploieșteanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costin Claudiescu let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 32nd minute shot 4-0 at rihgt post. If Claudiu Ploieșteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costică Pantea struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Gigel Pantilimon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC RAPID. Gigel Pantilimon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Claudiescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costin Claudiescu in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigel Pantilimon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Cârnu kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, FC Gloria Marasesti's goalkeeper Gigel Pantilimon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Costin Claudiescu. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

When UFC RAPID's Costin Claudiescu in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Gloria Marasesti's goalie prevented a goal. When Costică Pantea came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the UFC RAPID fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costică Pantea couldn't finish the play. Gigel Pantilimon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Costin Claudiescu's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. If Costică Pantea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58thth minute of the game Costin Claudiescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Gloria Marasesti's Gigel Pantilimon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Cătălin Sandu managed to get in a good position for a shot. UFC RAPID's supporters rose to their feet, but Cătălin Sandu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Pantilimon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigel Pantilimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ştefan Ciutacu, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gigel Pantilimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Pantea in the 62nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the FC Gloria Marasesti defense, Costin Claudiescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigel Pantilimon. The FC Gloria Marasesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigel Pantilimon should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costin Claudiescu in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigel Pantilimon saved FC Gloria Marasesti from getting behind. If Costică Pantea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee ignored FC Gloria Marasesti's protests and gave Sebastian Cârnu a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 minutes, Costin Claudiescu made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. FC Gloria Marasesti's Gigel Pantilimon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in UFC RAPID's zone, Iacob Andone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Irinel Roşulescu came out of the goal and Iacob Andone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gică Harhoiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. UFC RAPID fully deserved thier win.
