Florin Babeș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Buș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Eliodor Văcăroiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Henciu's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliodor Văcăroiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florin Babeș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Florin Babeș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavel Buș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calistrat Roşca kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo AFC's zone, Valeriu Druga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florin Babeș came out of the goal and Valeriu Druga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pavel Buș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Babeș having to interfere. If Pavel Buș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palermo AFC's Florin Babeș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliodor Văcăroiu in the 36th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliodor Văcăroiu to make the kick off.
