Iordache Boltașu started the match with the kick off. If Gabriel Nae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stanislav Kukenski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Florin Babeș tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the game, Iordache Boltașu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Florin Babeș was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 14th minute Doru Panaitoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Torsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanislav Kukenski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Babeș having to interfere. A collision led to Palermo AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Calistrat Roşca hit a great ball. In the 25th of the match, Stanislav Kukenski tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Florin Babeș got in the way and made a wonderful save. Palermo AFC's Florin Babeș proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Palermo AFC from getting a goal against them. Brian Torsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pavel Hogaș went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Iordache Boltașu struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Florin Babeș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Action XXI Giroc. In the 40th minute, Stanislav Kukenski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Florin Babeș, passed just outside the right post. 41 minutes into the match, Action XXI Giroc's Stanislav Kukenski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florin Babeș narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Action XXI Giroc booed when Palermo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calistrat Roşca didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Mircea Mineață's late challenge caught a Action XXI Giroc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Mineață helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Palermo AFC's Mircea Mineață got a free kick in the 60th minute. If Gabriel Nae had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brian Torsen was a little too slow when Pavel Hogaș got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-2. Gabriel Nae hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Florin Babeș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iordache Boltașu in the 85th minute of play. Florin Babeș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valério Teles in the 86th minute of the match. If Iordache Boltașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugen Hârtopanu in the 90th minute of play forced Action XXI Giroc's goalkeeper Brian Torsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
