Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nechifor Mărăcuță ran back to his position shaking his head. Damian Micu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantin Chevereșan in the 10th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, Martin Boerescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. -BFT- FC STEAUA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave STEAUA the free kick. In the 12th minute, -BFT- FC STEAUA's Vali Ilarie seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vali Ilarie the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of -BFT- FC STEAUA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vali Ilarie had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 12 minutes into the game, one of -BFT- FC STEAUA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 19 played minutes -BFT- FC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Petre Patrichi. -BFT- FC STEAUA's Damian Micu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelian Andone in the 25th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, STEAUA's Lucian Ologu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damian Micu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, -BFT- FC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Lucian Ologu came free, but Damian Micu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to -BFT- FC STEAUA getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Ionuț Ţăranu hit a great ball. Damian Micu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Ologu, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. -BFT- FC STEAUA's Damian Micu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucian Ologu in the 42nd minute of play. With a little luck, STEAUA's Manuel Lunca got control of the ball when Nechifor Mărăcuță tried to sneak it across the goal line. The -BFT- FC STEAUA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. STEAUA were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Nechifor Mărăcuță made the kick off in the second half. Damian Micu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Constantin Chevereșan in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Lucian Ologu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Micu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, -BFT- FC STEAUA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Patrichi to maneuver through the defense. Aurelian Andone's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Damian Micu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Damian Micu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Ologu in the 68th minute of play. Aurelian Andone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damian Micu having to interfere. Aurelian Andone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Damian Micu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damian Micu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelian Andone in the 76th minute. Aurelian Andone who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Damian Micu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Lucian Ologu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damian Micu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Damian Micu was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Lucian Ologu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lucian Ologu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Aurelian Andone in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Damian Micu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to STEAUA getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Adam Şimandan hit a great ball. Damian Micu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Ologu in the 92nd minute of play. STEAUA's Constantin Tăutu couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for -BFT- FC STEAUA.
