Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vasile Pociu started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the game, Stelian Mohora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Basarab Zogreanu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gheorghe Muscaș struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Basarab Zogreanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid. After 14 minutes, Dorel Ştefulescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steagu and the Real Madrid players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th match minute, Steagu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Ştefulescu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Real Madrid's Robert Codruț got control of the ball when Anton Arapașu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Basarab Zogreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Mohora in the 17th minute of the match. Stelian Mohora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 22 minutes, Alexandru Penescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Penescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Steagu's zone, Stelian Mohora stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basarab Zogreanu came out of the goal and Stelian Mohora tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basarab Zogreanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Şerban's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Basarab Zogreanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Mohora, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After having played for 35 minutes, Stelian Mohora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stelian Mohora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Stelian Mohora had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basarab Zogreanu. Steagu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stelian Mohora was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stelian Mohora in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basarab Zogreanu saved Steagu from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gheorghe Muscaș in the 43rd minute of play forced Steagu's goalkeeper Basarab Zogreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Anton Arapașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Gheorghe Muscaș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid's supporters rose to their feet, but Gheorghe Muscaș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basarab Zogreanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Alexandru Penescu made the kick off in the second half. Anton Arapașu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Robert Codruț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute Anton Arapașu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Codruț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Stelian Mohora came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stelian Mohora couldn't finish the play. Alexandru Penescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Zogreanu having to interfere. Basarab Zogreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stelian Mohora in the 66th minute of the match. Stelian Mohora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Zogreanu having to interfere. When Sever Spânu fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steagu's protests and gave Sever Spânu a yellow card for diving instead. Sever Spânu hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Martin Şerban got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Madrid's Stelian Mohora slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Basarab Zogreanu. That made the score 0-3 after 74 minutes of play. Martin Şerban fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basarab Zogreanu having to interfere. Gheorghe Muscaș sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 88 minutes, Stelian Mohora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stelian Mohora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Real Madrid played a much better game than Steagu and deserved their victory. The Steagu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
